Cookies The Size Of Your Head

Wish I could remember where I saw it, most likely a gif file on Twitter, but there was a cookie recipe that resembled S’mores by putting marshmallows and chocolate chips in the middle. We already have an awesome cookie recipe that we call in our house “Clayton’s mom’s cookies.” Other than the cookies my grandma made as a kid, these are the best cookies.

You can use your own cookie dough, if you want shitty cookies. It’s up to you. But don’t come crying to me.

The only difference is what I mentioned above: you lay down a flat piece of dough, place the marshmallows and chocolate chips in the middle, and wrap the dough around the marshmallows. You may need to use a little extra dough to make it work.

What I failed to do on the first batch was have anything resembling cookie size recognition. AND I EVEN USED A COOKIE MAT THAT SIZES IT FOR YOU. (Side note: these cookie mats, or whatever the hell you call them, are worth whatever we paid for them. You don’t need to spray; it helps you size the cookies; and they’re easy-ish to clean) Here are the most gorgeous pictures of cookies you’ve ever seen in your life.

We found this dinosaur cookie jar at Target, and if we make cookies, our son won’t eat it unless he gets to take it out of the dinosaur. This is not a small opening, but these wouldn’t remotely fit. And this has nothing to do with the post, but my wife installed this back splash herself, so it’ll probably be in most pictures because it’s awesome.

Heed My Warning For Best Cookie

One last thought on these S’mores cookies: because of the marshmallows, they’re best to eat right after you make them. The middle hardens slightly after the first day; they still taste good, but not nearly as good when fresh. You’ve been warned. Now go make them and tell me what you think.

PS. this may be common knowledge to you, intelligent reader, but I only learned it a few years ago. Putting a piece of bread inside whatever container you use for cookies keeps them soft. They’re almost better the next day when you do this.
